Hello everyone,
I have opened a document through "open in server" command. The problem is that this application is in read-only, I cannot edit it or I cannot go into the script.
I think it's because I don't have an administrator license so my entreprise gave me one.
I go to Help-> Update licence and enter the licence number but i have a message telling that the key of license indicated in the LEF activating file doesn't match my license key...
When I go to hepl-> About , there is nothing indicated for the license key.
Anyone has an idea ?
What can I do ? I don't understand...
Thanks for your help
Hi,
if you QlikView Server is configured to lease licenses you do not need to add a local license.
If your client looks like this, you got a license from server already. If this line still tells you you are using a Personal edition you need you did not get one.
To change the scripts you need the .QVW file.

Michael
Hi,
with open in server you can't edit the dashboard. It is like opening the dashboard from the access point through the browser.
If you want to modify the dashboard you have to open it (not 'open in server')
Okay, i didn't know that !
But if I just do Open, I have a message telling me that I have the personnal edition and I can't open a file coming from another computer..
What do I have to do ?
Thank you again for your help
Hi Laura,
From the Reference Manual (page 51):
When opening documents as a client to QlikView Server the possibilities are restricted on
what is possible to do with the document compared to when opening local documents. As a
client it is not possible to add or delete sheet objects, depending on whether the document
supports collaboration. Sheets cannot be added or deleted. Furthermore, not all properties
dialogs can be accessed, macros changed, the script accessed, data reloaded or the document
saved.
I hope it helps
Carlos

If you use the 'open in server' to open an existing document you shoould lease the license.
Then(like Michael says in his post) you could use the open menu.
You service Provider (maybe IT) have to add you to the list of users that are allowed to get a license (NAMED CAL).
That can be configured at the QMC.
It is possible your company uses document licenses for "read only users".
I think you should check out how your IT is managing the users and CAL (Client Access License).

Thank you everyone !
I was leasing a license but I was still trying to open in server instead of just doing "open".
Have a good day !
