License QlikView Server in Desktop

Hello everyone,

i have a serve where i have installed QlikView 12 and QlikView Server.

I have this license:

               Product                                        Quantity

QlikView Enterprise Edition Server                      1

QlikView Named User CAL                               10

QlikView Document CAL                                  10

QlikView Session CAL                                      1

But sometimes i need to develop some apps in server machine and i need to use qlikview desktop.

There is some possibility of insert one of those 10 QlikView Named User CAL in QlikView Desktop associated to my user account? I would like to to open QVW created by other users.

Thanks by your help,

Grettings

Does your account have the correct permissions to the QVWs?

Does your account have a Named User CAL assigned? If yes, I suggest you try the other option listed in the License Lease Technical Brief -  Start QlikView Desktop and from the ‘Settings’ menu select ‘User Preferences’ followed by the ‘Locations’ tab. Highlight “QlikView Server Access Point (URL)” and press the ‘Modify’ button. Enter the Access Point URL and press ‘OK’. From the ‘Tools’ menu select ‘Open QlikView AccessPoint’. When the QlikView Access Point displays showing available documents, click to open a document. At this point, QlikView will lease a license from the server (if License Leasing is enabled on the Server) ensuring the copy of QlikView is fully licensed.

Or reach out to Qlik Support as they can have a WebEx with you and provide assistance in real-time.

Can you see that documents in the access point using the same user credentials?

I did that but it just allows me to access the document.

I would like to edit it... edit script, remove objects, create objects and so on. That's the idea or i did something wrong?

In you Open in server screen shot you have 'Anomymous' ticked, it would normally be "Use NT Identity", try that instead.

Andrew,

i tried option 1 - "Leasing a license from the server through AccessPoint" and it worked well. The only problem is i cant edit the QVW (i cant edit script, create/remove objects, etc)

i tried option 2 - "Leasing a license from the server with Open in Server option" and here is where i am having problems

Thanks
