Licenses, Accesspoints and General setup

Hey guys,

So our company has a remote qlikview server. I remote into this one whenever I work with Qlikview.

1. Is it possible first off to instead of remote desktop to that computer open documents and editing them on my own computer?

- If I open it by "opening in server" I can't edit script and save the document.

2. We have extracted our own Active directory to that Qlikviewserver. Therefor I can remote into it by using ym own company's log in.

- When I want others to see the accesspoint it's jsut blank and no apps are seen there for them.

This is some not really important stuff but still I would like to create apps for certain departments in the company and make it visible on the accesspoint but at this point it is not because of these issues.

Anyone who can help me with this?

Hi niklassoder

  1. You must have direct access to the server if you want to modify and save the document
  2. Only authorized people(with yours AD login) can view the documents, unless you enable annonimous loguins and have a session ou usage licence

You can create departments applications but you must put them in a shared space with read permissions to everybody

1. If you want to open it on your desktop, first see if you have the License Lease ability with your QlikView Server License.  It sounds like the version on your desktop is a personal edition of QliKView desktop which would be one reason why you can't edit or save the app.  You can get around this by having the ability to lease a license from the server or applying a QlikView Desktop license to your desktop install.  Here is how to lease a license: QlikView License Leasing

2.  As Herbert said you need to give users access to the apps before they will be able to see anything in AccessPoint.
