Hi Community,
I have recently upgraded QV Server from 11 SR2 to 11.2 SR15. For the first week PDF distributions worked fine. But now am getting below error.
Error form QMC Task Log:
Error: Could not print report. ErrorCode=PRINTER_NOT_FOUND. ReportID=Document\RP06
Error: Could not save document stream to disk.. Exception=QVBWrapper.Exceptions.PdfPrintRetryException: Failed to print pdf. || at QVBWrapper.Document.GeneratePdfFile(ILogBucket logBucket, String reportId) || at QVBWrapper.Document.GetStream(ILogBucket i_LogBucket, eDocumentType i_DocumentType, String i_URL, Boolean i_ShowToolBar, String i_ReportID)
Error from Windows Log:
I have found ‘Print Spooler’ service was disabled. I have manually enabled this and PDF’s are distributed successfully.
But the issue is, ‘Print Spooler’ service is getting auto disabling very often. Tried changing in Properties>Startup Type as ‘Automatic’. This isn’t helping much, since this is getting Auto disabling very often. I have found in some Qlik community discussion that this is because of PDF-Xchange 3 which is installed along with QlikView Server setup. But PDF-Xchange 3 is not updated along with QlikView Server upgrade.
Image from Control Panel:
My Question is, will reinstalling/Upgrading PDF-Xchange 3 help me in resolving this auto disabling of Print Spooler service? If yes, which version of PDF-Xchange 3 is compatible with QV S11.2 SR 15.
Thanks in Advance.
Print spooler service issues often are caused by bad .spl files.
You can also set the recovery options for the service (open the service properties and check the Tab Recovery)
Hi,

Qlik By default ships with PDF-Xchange 3.
This service could be set to stop by your system administrators by forcing universal group policy from AD.
Check with some system admin in your company. This is no where related to Qlik.
Hope it helps.
