Preparing for QlikView Server Upgrade

Preparing for QlikView Server Upgrade

We are planning to upgrade our QlikView Server. What should we check before proceeding?

In my opinion, as long as we have a proper backup, we should be good to go. After the upgrade, we just need to verify that the tasks, licenses, and CALs are working properly. I believe that once the license has expired, it is not possible to upgrade the QlikView Server. Could you confirm if this is correct or if there are any additional steps that we need to take?

Current version: 12.602000.0 Upgrade version: 12.70.20100

Thank you in advance.

Here is a guide on upgrade. For license, you can upgrade but you have to put in a valid license for the system to run.

Hi @qwebnm,

Regarding your question on if it is possible to upgrade QlikView Server with an expired license, have a look at Qlik Knowledgebase article Upgrading or Licensing QlikView with an expired Maintenance Contract.  Prior to upgrading QlikView Server, you may first need to update the QlikView Server license if the current LEF shows as past dated.

That might not be entirely correcty. You would probably still be able to upgrade, but all the functionalities might not be available (please try on sandbox first to confirm). And for steps to follow or procedure types of queries - you should first check the qlik official document.  Upgrading and migrating QlikView Server | QlikView Help
