Hi All,
I have a client that is looking to have a number of named users and a number of document users.
Their requirement is that they would like the named users to be able to change dashboards etc but also allow the document users to make selections and create static reports frm their selections.
Can document users access the publisher and pdf distribution options on the server or is this limited to named users only.
Many thanks,
Simon
Hi,
They would need a PDF printer on the local Machine. The PDF option in publisher is for Publisher to send out reports to users.

Hi Bill
Thanks for the reply and for the information.
Thanks again,
Simon
N printing is the second option
can you confirm that you can send reports using pdf distributor to users who are not licensed on AccessPoint?
Yes, they do not have to have a CAL to receive a PDF report from Publisher.
Bill
Can you Please share experience with N-Printing mean what are the advantages ?
Another option is QVReport which is very similar to crystal reports and not dependent on Excel. You can create pixel perfect reports and distribute to any email address or groups of emails without using the publisher. QVReport | QlikView | BInetwork
the main advantage of QVReport or NPrinting is that both are "reporting" tools and QlkView is not. The reporting option (PDF) on Qlikview is very basic and far from pixel perfect. Another advantage is the distribution capabilities for those who do not have publisher.
Hi, Vikas.
Being a Qlik product, Publisher is more integrated with QlikView.
NPrinting is a 3rd party piece of software but I use it for word, excel, ppt and Pixel Perfect pdf generation. It can pull objects from several QVWs at once an pull them together to make a report. This report can then be scheduled to automatically go to a list of users by email attachment or by sending to user's folders.

Neil
Thanks Neil.
