QMC Tasks and Windows Patching

Hi all, I am either not searching the right terms, or it hasn't been asked yet.

Is it necessary to disable all (primary) tasks in a QlikView QMC when applying Windows patches, etc?

My thought is stopping the services, apply the patches, then restart services would suffice.

Can someone point me to a document that explains this so I can educate our admins? (and myself)

We're running version April 2019 SR3 (12.4 SR3) on Windows 2016.

@johnca  For Windows patching no you do not need to disable Reload tasks or stop any services. The patches will just install on the server and restart like normal. No QlikView services need to be turned off prior to Windows patch installation.

Thank you, @Lucas_Gatling, but that article does not address my question on whether or not tasks need to be disabled when applying patches or upgrades. Is there another KB article that does?

Great @Lucas_Gatling , and as I suspected. But, is there a KB article (or other Qlik document) I can point our admins to? Our IT can be quite detail oriented for these things.

@johnca  unfortunately we do not specifically for that. The KB article that I originally shared is the closest article we have for that topic.

@Lucas_Gatling I accepted your response as the solution, but I must say this should be addressed in more depth or at least mentioned in a KB or maintenance document. Just sayin'...

@Lucas_Gatling , can I also assume then that if another database QlikView tries to connect to is undergoing patching, say our ERP database, then QlikView tasks also do not need to be disabled? The task will just fail right?

That's correct. You shouldn't have to disable any QlikView tasks.
