QlikView 11 Upgrade Issues - Job Failures

We just recently upgraded to QlikView 11 and most everything is running fine. We have two jobs however, that always fail with the below error messages. They ran fine before the upgrade and run fine when run through the Developer client. Anyone seen this before or know what I can do to troubleshoot?

Hi,

I have seen this when the distribution service can't talk to QVS.

Thanks Bill, Any idea how I can check this? Would it still be able to reload most jobs if it had this issue?

Hi Brian,

As each qvw is distributed the Distribution service talkes to QlikView Server on port 4747. If for some reason this doesn't happen then the distribution will fail. So, It can happen on one job and not the next.

I would look at the QlikView server event log around the time the task failed to see if you see anything. You might need to increase the logging level in the QMC to high to really find anything.

Thanks Again Bill,

It looks like it might be a re-name issue, although I have no idea how to resolve it. I tried copying the app and renaming it, setting up a new task and we get the same issue. You can see below our issue happened this afternoon, but I did find it interesting about the server issue from this morning as well.

EventsTimestampSeverityServer NameMessage
2013-07-23 13:49:55WarningServer.logFile Upload: Incomplete upload of AccessPoint/Test.qvw abandoned
2013-07-23 13:49:55WarningServer.logFileClose: Failed to rename (AccessPoint/Test.qvw)
2013-07-23 08:56:11ErrorServer.logRestart: Server aborted trying to recover by restart. Reason for restart: Phoenix detected: Performance monitor stuck
Not applicable

Any solution to this issue.

We are facing similar issue .

Do you have any updates on this after Nov 2013. we are having same rename issues and we ruled out the below

1. Anti-Virus - disabled on all qlikview folders and files

2. SAN - No issues with SAN

3. Server resources - Looks good with more than 50-60 % available at the max peak time.

Other than above errors we are not seeing any errors/warinin in the QV logs as well on windows event logs.

we are on 11.2 SR4 installed on 2008 R2 servers

Hi,

I'm not sure if this will help or not, but you can try.

Go to C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\1 and delete the Temp folder. If the issue continue, you will need to open a ticket with support.

do you suggest that I can/need to delete the folder even it is empty. I see this folder is empty

Yes, that is correct. That way QV can recreate it.
