QlikView Desktop script execution fails without any error in the log file

When we run with QMC some QlikView document, the task ends successfully, and the QlikView document gets updated properly.

However, when we run manually the above QlikView document with QlikView Desktop, Client Version: 12.10.20800.0, the script execution fails with "Execution of script failed, Reload old data? " message, but without any error in the log file itself.  Must point out here, that this script does not hold any synthetic key and our server does not face any ram memory or lack of disk space issue. Can you please help and give some insights to solve this issue.

Hi

First of all, many thanks to all of you for helping.

Finally, after fixing in the script 2 consecutive "Unqualified" statements (without any qualify statement between them), the QlikView Desktop script execution finished successfully. Nevertheless, still wondering why it was not found any error for it in the log.

Best Regards

Run the script on Debug and find where it fails.

It will give you better indication of the issue.

I would guess being Desktop failing it is something that the Server has access to that desktop does not.

Hi @moniquen17,

Is document logging enabled for the QVW? Refer to Qlik Support article How to Enable QlikView Document Reload Log for details if it isn't.

When reload tasks are run from the QlikView Server/Publisher, the account used is the service account that is running the QlikView Distribution Service (QDS). What account are you logged in with when attempting to reload with QlikView Desktop? Can you log in with the service account and reload the QVW from QlikView Desktop?

Best Regards

An addition to the provided link of how to enable the log-creation - there is also a related setting in the user properties in tab general to write immediately into the log. Without this option it could happens that the log-file isn't created in the case of an error.
