QlikView QMC task is in a continuous running state

Hi Team,

We suddenly have a very odd situation,  from today a QMC task for QVD generator is running forever, we have tried various methods like clearing the application data folder for QDS, creating new tasks, changing triggers, restarting services but this does not seem to change anything, can you please suggest.

Regards,

Susmit

Hello @Susmit,

Alright, then on the Document Log at what stage is stuck? Is fetching data from a DB or what action is doing?

If you try to run the same document from QV Desktop on the Distribution node, would you get the same result?

What happen if you increase the timeout to 48h/72h for example to see if eventually will finish or will still time out?

Cheers,

If you have this or similar in the task log, than it is the timeout that @Albert_Candelario mentions above.

QDSMain.Exceptions.TaskTimeOutException: Task <c3f52d38-3ec3-4053-a84a-dcdc03510e43> has timed out: Aborting distribution

In the document log, can you see if the reload fails at the same place in the script, every time? I would also suggest that you compare an older document log to the failing one, that way you can see where in the script takes longer.

Note, to set the time out more than 24h you have to follow the below article

Hello @Susmit ,

Thanks for posting here.

The first thing I would you, if not enabled would be to activate the Document Log of the qvw file, so you then could you if such document is been updated during the load and if is stuck at some point in which is happening.

I would assume that the Task log is showing as loading till the Task timeout is reached and then the task would be aborted, if not edited the default timeout is 24h for QlikView tasks.

Cheers,

Albert

Hi @Albert_Candelario ,

Thanks for your reply, the document log is already enabled, we donot get any errors , it just shows that task aborted after timeout. In the task log too we donot get any error.

The strange thing is same qvw runs fine in another platform, guess what's the issue for this task.
