Qlikview Administrator

Hi team, can someone please help?

I installed a new version of Qlikview into a new Windows 2019 server and everything is fine except for the fact that one of my users known as "A" who is part of the "Administrators" Group and "Qlikview Administrators" group doesn't see the same server as the "Administrator" sees.  Meaning, all the install and servers are set on the "Administrator" profile in the Windows 2019 server; however, when I log into the Windows 2019 server, Qlikview thinks it's a new free user account without access to all the dashboards or files.  Do I need to add user "A" to anywhere else in these folders to have access to all the files that user "Administrator" has?

Hi,

The local server administrator group should have the service account that is running the QlikView services in it.

The QlikView Administrators should have the users you want to Manage QlikView through the QMC and service account that is running the QlikView services.

The user documents are assigned to users when you set up the distribution task,

I'm not sure if it's (easy) possible to inherit the rights from another user especially if it's the Administrator account and more important if it's sensible.

Therefore I think it's more common to give the user the directly the needed rights. Means here going to the (root) folders and setting the appropriate rights for each relevant user respectively more or less hierarchically structured user-groups.

Hello @powerqlik ,

What authorization method do you use? NTFS or DMS, depending on the same our answer might differ.

Authorization ‒ QlikView

Cheers,
