Qlikview Server not retaining Cache - 12.5

Hi,

We recently upgraded from 12.4 to 12.5 and noticed that when using the Accesspoint.

When we open a document it takes a little longer to load and we now notice that the RAM (Cache) is being completely dropped when the application is closed.

We did a straight upgrade without amending any settings.

If anyone can help / advise that would be great!

Cheers,

Phil

I would recommend reviewing the following knowledge article to be sure you properly understand how things work regarding the caching etc.:

https://community.qlik.com/t5/Support-Knowledge-Base/QIX-Engine-Memory-Management-and-CPU-Utilizatio...

The cached views etc. should be there, but as Kaushik noted, if the Document Timeout hits due to no users being in the application, it will then unload from memory, that is working as expected, so to his point, you would need to either increase the Document Timeout at the Global or Document level and/or use the Preload option, the latter will keep the app loaded in memory except for those instances where there are no users in the app and it is reloaded/distributed, there may be a gap in those cases where it may take up to 10 minutes to load back up into memory, and this is by design as well due to the scanning interval of the QVS checking the qvw files and the meta files to figure out what should be loaded etc...  Check the following Help topics as well:

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/qlikview/April2020/Subsystems/QMC/Content/QV_QMC/QMC_System_Setup_QlikVi...

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/qlikview/April2020/Subsystems/QMC/Content/QV_QMC/QMC_Documents_UserDocum...

Note on the last link above, that also exists in Source Documents, so you can set things there which will ensure it is always set on any QVS distribution going forward, did not know if you had Publisher or not though.

Regards,
Brett
