Session expires too soon

Hi,

We face the issue, that any session expires after 10 minutes.
In Sessions.log the exit reason is "Session expired after idle time".

I read some articles in the community here, but the recommendations there  are not working. E.g. the setting for the QlikView  Server QSS in Documents for the document timeout is 480 mins, in Performance for maximum inactive session time is 1800 seconds.
Other timeout settings are either default - which usually is much higher than 10 mins - or increased to at least 30 mins.

We are running QlikView May 2021 SR2, without IIS, on a Windows 2019 server.

Does anyone have an idea where else to look?

Thanks in advance,
Walter

Hi @buhler,

Suggest that you start with the Qlik Support article Timeout Values Related to QlikView Deployment and focus on the entries for QVS and QVWS. Another issue may be if you have a network load balancer in play in the environment. If so, be sure that session persistence, or "sticky sessions", is enabled on the NLB.

Hi Chip
Thank you for your suggestion. I already went through this article.
As mentioned in my question, all setting are like the defaults here or higher.

Do you have a network load balancer (NLB) in your QVS environment?

Hi,
No, we do not have a load balancer.

Does the issue happen with specific QVWs or all QVWs?

Does the issue happen with specific users or all users?
Is the issue reproducible on demand or intermittent?
Do you have a case open with Qlik Support about this issue?

Hi,

currently i'm using below configuration and session should expires after 30 min (1800 sec) if the user is an ideal state.

Hi,
We experience this issue with one specific qvw, and there for every user.
And yes, it is reproducible, meaning it happens all the time and annoys the users.
This qvw is very big. For this qvw the document timeout is set to 60 mins; the maximum inactive session time is empty, the global value here is 1800 secs.
It is updated and reloaded only once a day.
No, I have not yet opened a ticket at Qlik Support.

So it seems there's likely something within this particular QVW that's causing the session cookie to end.
