System Recommendation

Hi All,

I am kind of new to the system admin side of Qlik and was hoping to get some help. I am running into performance issues when the physical memory usage is at 98% and the CPU usage is around 50-60%. The current environment is CPU @2.30 GHz (2 processors) and 32GB of RAM. Is it reasonable to think that upgrading it to 64GB of RAM would relieve this issue of performance?

Thank you,

Yes, you will probably need to do something about your RAM, but I would also consider adding cpus to my environment. In the system requirements it says QlikView requires multicore compatible processors, but my experience that you need at least 4 processors to ensure a good stable environment.

To summarise. Double the RAM double your processors. If that is not enough the add some more ram to your system.

A paralell activity is to identify the heavy ram consuming qv documents to see if you can optimizer it in some way. Tools like Governance dashboard and Document Analyser could be helpful to identifying apps and pinpointing document areas to improve.

Good luck
