a new folder and a category has been created on the QlikView server Client managed version May 2024 and users cant' see the category on the QlikView AccessPoint. Any idea why?
Folder permissions are set ok:
Thank you
There is a setting within the document-properties in tab server on the bottom right - to filter the access point in regard to the applied section access. Just disable the option.
Hi, you can confirm that the user has read permission on the qvw files, just in case the files didn't have inherited the folder permissions.
Also confirm that the document don't have section access applied, or if it's applied, that the users has been included in section access.
It looks like you might be applying the category within Source Documents rather than User Documents
Thank you Matthew,
no, I've been using the User Document tab
Thank you Rubenmarin,
you can see in my 3rd screenshot they all have needed permissions.
Also, all users used in the Section Access are members of the AD users group.
It's always worth putting a blank document, with no section access, with a really obvious name in a new folder to check who can and can't see it.
If you go to the Documents tab, does LPT show up on that tab, and are the correct documents showing up there?
Does the problem affect all users or just some users?
Steve
Thank you Steve. This is what I am testing right now.
Hi, the 3rd screenshot says 'Folder permission', I was telling to check the document to confirm it has inherited the permissions from the folder. Sometimes I found documents with different permissions than the folder they are located.
Hi, sorry.
The application has inherited security permissions from the folder.
the key question is still why users do not see all applications stored in that folder/category?
Thanks
because when SectionAccess is set this is what users get and that is perfectly fine:
