Windows server upgrade

Hello consultant,

We are using the QlikView Management Console under Windows Server 2012 R2. As my colleague told me, the Server 2012 R2 will be expired soon and we decided to upgrade to Server 2022. However, Windows Server 2022 is not officially supported by QlikView, our IT colleague suggested in-place upgrade. Upgrade from Windows Server 2012 R2 to Windows Server 2016 and then to Windows Sever 2019. May I know is it possible to perform in-place upgrade from 2012 to 2016 and then 2019, pls? Any impact on such upgrade and which area is required to take special care?

Many thanks

Toms

*We have QMC, QV Desktop and NPrinting installed under existing Windows Serer 2012 R2

Hello Maria,

Thanks for your latest information.

Sad to say, we want to complete the upgrade by ourselves this time. Last time, the QMC installation is completed by QlikView (Hong Kong) regional office's consultant. May I know are there any information or user guides or instruction on Windows Server upgrade for QlikView for reference, pls?

Many thanks

@kathrinespang  As Windows is microsoft product we do not provide step by step on upgrading  Windows Operating System, you will need to follow Microsoft guidelines.

The article below provides general best practices to prepare for updates,

That was just the list I was looking for. Fully understand that you don't have guides for windows just needed the short list to send to the customer on the big things that needed backup and checks.
