easiest way to up- and download qvw's from server

Can someone tell what is the best / easiest way to setup up and downloadloading of qv documents. I've tried to set it up with an accesspoint but when I grant access in the server management console (section "general" ,Allow Document Upload, Allow Document Download) I still can't do nothing. I'm using NTFS Authorization (Windows controls file access) because I'm not sure what to do with DMS Authorization (QlikView controls file access) ..

Allow Document Upload/Download in QVS Management Console is only applicable when running in DMS Authorization mode. Basically what will happen is that you will upload/download directly to/from the QVS, which is not possible in NTFS Authorization mode.

If running NTFS Authorization you need to set up a Distribution Folder Resource and make sure you distribute to this resource in your distribution task (as suggested in previous post).

If running in DMS Authorization mode, you add QVS as a resource in Publisher and distribute to this resource (instead of directly to the file system). By adding QVS as a resource you will be able to control DMS directly from Publisher.

I'm using the latest 8.5 server and publisher standard edition version.. I also have the same problem as described in this tread here http://community.qlik.com/forums/p/15017/58530.aspx#58530

"In the Accesspoint website, i can only get to show the IE Plugin and Java client even if I've checked under the QVS console and marked the Client Download checkbox.. I cannot get the Client Download to show. It will show an unresolved icon with tooltip of Not yet implemented."

Well i havn't checked this but i think that you can change that Download variable in both the Qlikview document and the publisher accesspoint (aswell as the tast/job itself). So, have a look through all thoose and see if they're all set to allow download.

In your publisher control panel under Main > Task Management >Distribution tasks. Select the distribution task of the qvw in question and under Allowed Clients you will see an option for Allow Download. Make sure that is checked and rerun the job for this distribution and the application should show as available to download on the Accesspoint page.

Hope this helps!

Is it possible that you need the enterprise edition of publisher to arrange this? The only task I can create is a reload task..

Correct William,

Publisher Enterprise is required for distribution.

Something for the future though - In QV9 AccessPoint will be part of QlikView Server, so you will be able to do the download of a qvw.
