2 Documents-same security but 1 asks for user ID

Hello

I was wondering if someone could kindly help me with some security of a document

I have 2 documents, both with the same section access, as below;

Section

Access;

LOAD

'S-1-5-21-133631074-2907035605-456469473'

as NTDOMAINSID,
USER as NTNAME,
ACCESS as ACCESS,
PATIENT_LEVEL,
SHEET_ACCESS
FROM
C:\QLIKVIEW\DEVELOPMENT\ACCESS\Access.xlsx
(
ooxml, embedded labels, table is

ACCESS);

Section

Application;

The Source is referring to a spreadsheet which contains our relevant user ID's  I.e.

However I am prompted for a USERID on one document and not another, yet my colleague is prompted for a USERID on every document

Could someone kindly help me understand as to why this may be the case?

Thanks

Helen

Helen,

Are you openening the documents in QlikView?  See what you have in User Preferences, tab General, checkbox "Remember Login Credentials...".  I guess you have it checked, and your co-worker has in unchecked.  It is on User level, not on document level, so the user experience may be different.

Michael

Hello Michael

Thank you for your suggestion.  I have it ticked.  I have 2 documents.  1 of which asks me for user ID and the 2nd does not, and both documents have "Remember Login Credentials...".  ticked.

So I am the same user and get asked in 1 document but not the other

Do you ahve any other suggestions?

This was exactly my suggestion - uncheck it.

Edit:  Want to explain how it works.

First, User Preferences is a property of the user environment, not a property of a QV document.  That means you can't say "both
documents have Remember Login Credentials  ticked
".  It is checked once for the user.
Next, if you have it checked, you open the first document (any of the two) typing login/password - and QV remembers user credentials.  If you open the second document after this (or close and reopen the first one without closing Qlikview itself) - QlikView remembers user credentials, and doesn't ask another time, if the credentials are the same.

If you have it unchecked, you'll be asked for credentials every time, even if you close/reopen the same documant without closing QlikView.

Regards,

Michael
