Ajax session won't terminate when closing document

We are running into an issue when session on the server won't terminate when users click on "close" button or close the tab using AJAX.   We are still running Qlikview 10 (in process to upgrade), but same behavior is observed in QV12.   This particular Qlikview document contains input fields and macros.

The session does not close directly after leaving the application.

Based on the article you provided, where would I find configuration for web server sessions?

I don't have access to a QlikView server right now but it should be an adjustment setting for session time out in the QMC. Try looking at the setting for System - Setup - Server - Performance.
