Hi all,
I would like to configure Qv Publisher to send an email everytime a task failed:
- I have entered an email in System>Distribution Services>Alert Email
- I test my Mail Server by using 'Send test e-mail to' feature with my email and it is working fine
Unfortunately, when a task failed, I don't receive any e-mail...
Do you know if i missed an option to tick or something else?
Thank you for your help,
Claire
If the AlertEmail ID and Host settings are done properly then this warning should not have come. May be restarting the QlikView Distribution Service after applying the changes in the Mail settings should work. If possible then can you pls try that option.
Can you please check if you have Notify selected in your task?
You have to configure Mail server
Even if I tick this checkbox, I don't receive any emails...
But if I can send me a test e-mail from my mail server, it means that it is well configured isn't it?
Below given is the mail server setup in our environment. Do you see any difference?
also Please let me know if you are seeing any warning message in the Status tab > Task Details > log for the task which has failed and not sending mail to distribution ID.
And one more thing. Please see if you have correctly mentioned the Mail ID under System > Distribution Services > Alert emails
So, I check every point you said and this the log for my task which not sending me an email:
Warning: Can't find a suitable Email adress for recipient. MailAdress(es)=, Recipient=, ID=srv-qlik-tst\cbordier
If the AlertEmail ID and Host settings are done properly then this warning should not have come. May be restarting the QlikView Distribution Service after applying the changes in the Mail settings should work. If possible then can you pls try that option.
OK. Do you know what i should entered in the field host name in the mail server section? How can i get this information?
it should be your organization's mail host name. something like mailhost.orgname.com (If you are using outlook then you can find it in your outlook or just ask your System Admin team about the host name they will provide you that detail)
But you said your Test email worked. I'm not sure if the test email would work without proper value of the Host name being entered correctly. Can you please check that again?
