Alerts not working in Management console

Dear all,

I am developing a qlikview dashboard to monitor the dashboards I already finished.

So I have a certain condition in the alerts list and if this condition is true, Qlik will send me an email. I got everything working in the desktop version. Several emails were fired. Then, I scheduled the document in Qlikview management console, and nothing happened. Only when I opened the document in the folder, the alert was fired. I changed the setting "Mode" to "Batch" instead of "Interactive". However now it does not work at all, even after opening the document.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

If you want email to come of QV Server then you need to configure email settings in QMC.

Have a look & give it a go.

Hi,

I had the exact same issue a while ago.

Have you set up the email settings in your document_properties?

Does your server have an email_account? Usually, IT keeps these separate I guess, for security reasons.

With me, it still works this way - the app is run on the server, but the email is not fired. Then, as soon as I log in in the morning, that particular app opens along with other programs and the triggered emails are all fired then.

Best regards,

I see...

Everything is set up and working in Qlikview Desktop as expected... But not on the server.

I am now sending an email from my email to my own email just for testing purposes,

So, I dont know if it has something to do with permissions, or if I have to set an external trigger in order to fire the emails... I tried many things but none of them worked.

Just one more thing: what do you mean by "as soon as I log in in the morning"? Because I am now logged in in the machine and it still does not work.

Have you set up the email config in QMC ?

  • System
  • Setup
  • Mail Server

I get what you mean but, has this something to do with the alerts configured "inside" the Qv document?

So can't I have two different email senders?

I already have one email configured in the mail server, but now I would like to use my own email (a different one) because this is only for monitoring purposes.

Can you send a Test Email from QMC ok ?

I will explain this with details.

I can access our client QMC, where they have a mail set to send emails if the document reload fails.

Now, I want to send an email to me, from my email (not from theirs), if a certain condition is true (this has nothing to do with reload failure). I don't want to use their email, so the mail in the mail server is not the same as set in the QV document.

Does it work without the QMC mail server setting? I set my email already in the document properties.
