AppHangB1 error when opening .QVW from Server

All:

Getting a weird error. When opening a .qvw on server, opens no problem. Copy and paste into a local location on same virtual server, and the .qvw won't open in Qlikvew desktop. We do this for version controls, and need to make an update to the .qvw but unable to open at all.

Has anyone seen this error before with Qlikview? Google has it happening in other applications, but can't seem to find out what's going on here. Thanks in advance for any advice!

11.2 x64 version on Windows Server 2012 R2.
