I need to load 90 data files that each have a different layout. All these files contain fixed-length fields, but for each file the list fields is different.
For each file I have a corresponding xml file that tells me the column name and length for each field in the data file. I know how to MAP the column names to the fileds once all the fields are loaded. But now my challenge is the actual loading of the fields - I don't know how to delimit each field in the source file.
How can I get Qlikview to use the xml file (that defines the LENGTH of each field) to systematically determine start and end of each field in the data file and then load the data files. I'm trying to avoid manually doing this for 90 files.
Trust this problem makes sense.
