hi,
is there a way to change the bar chart design from:
to this style:
i.e. are there alternatives to the block colour option?
thanks in advance
I guess it's not possible.
You can use gradient as an alternative.
Hi,
I'm not sure what aspect of the graph you're meaning to change; looks like the QV one has 2 dimensions and an expression, whereas the purple example has one dimension and one expression.
Here are some shots in the dark...
If you want to switch from Staked to Grouped, it's an option in the Style tab of Chart Properties, but it can only be modified when Chart Type="Bar Chart" is selected (in the General tab)
If you're working with only 1 dimension and want a conditional formatting for your expression based on month, you can set the RGB value of the Background using an IF clause.
You can also use patterns instead of colours (option in the Colours tab) ...though I don't imagine anyone opting for this option nowadays.
Finally, you can edit your default colour palette. It also accepts function arguments, which can be based on colours loaded in the QV script (but that's a whole other topic that I don't seem to have a handy link to).
Not sure if that helps, but hopefully it doesn't hurt either.

Select Persistent Color in the color tab and select the option On Screen and see if that gives you what's required
