Best way to work with Composite Keys?

Hello!

I have 2 different tables related by the following fields: Rate, Stratum and Month.

It is better to:

- Concatenate those 3 fields and have something like RATE&'-'STRATUM&'-'MONTH AS %KEY_RSM?

- Or use the AutoHashing? Or another thing?

Thank you!!!

Use the autonumber function.

ex:

Autonumberhash128 (RATE&STRATUM&MONTH )

It is the best solution for the performance.

Hope this helps.

Well, I'm no expert but using Autonumber or any of its variations may improve performance but will also make it more difficult to debug this field. Perhaps you'd like to read this post from Karl Pover about this topic.
