Button behavior in ajax (Safari or iPad)

When I create a button in the client, I can use a combined image to set the normal button image, the click button image, and the not available button image. This works great.

When I change to webview, the click image is not displayed, but a faint border appears around the button to indicate that it was clicked.

When I test this on the accesspoint with Chrome or IE, I see the same faint border. When I test with Firefox or Safari, there is no visible indication that the button was clicked.

We are working on a project that will accessed mainly by iPads. The behavior is the same as Safari or Firefox.

Is there some way to get some visible feedback that a button was pressed?

I am not asking about toggle buttons, just normal button visual feedback.

Thanks for your reply.
