COUNTING WITH MONTHS

Hi All

if Shipdate = 15-01-2013

and I want as result to the monthnumber of the month before

so for the mentioned the result should be 12.

What expression should I use to get this result. 

ps.

Num(Date(Shipdate)) wil not work for January as the result is 0

Try like this

=Num(Month(AddMonths( Shipdate ,-1)))
