Can 1 QVD be shared by 2 Documents?

Hi,

I generated a QVD in my Local Machine and placed it in Server.

When I tried to use the qvd, I got an error message related to violation rights. Hence I performed the same process and generated it in QV Server.

I want to know that Can I use the same qvd for multiple reports?

Many Thanks and quick reply

- Deep

Hi  deepayan,

A qvd file can be used by many documents, You only need to be careful and not schedule the documents at the same time. The operational system lock the qvd file when the document is reloaded.

This is one of the main reasons for creating QVDs.  Being able to re-use data from QVD rather than going back to source data will give you huge performance gains and drop the amount of pressure you put on the database.  It also alows you to enforce consistency across different applications.
