Can I activate more than one bookmark?

I have a field called Products and I have created 2 bookmarks, one for a selection of Products 1,2,3 and a 2nd for Products 7,8,9.

I have ticked the box called 'Make bookmark apply on top of current selections'.

If I apply Bookmark1 and then Bookmark2, I would expect to select Products 1,2,3,7,8 and 9. This does not happen, so am I misunderstanding the tick box ? Is the issue that the bookmark operates on the same field in each case?

Is there any way of seeing which bookmarks are in opration?

Thanks

Unfortunately this will not work.  You are correct that the issue is that the bookmark operates on the same field.

A bookmark is not "in operation" per se.  It simply applies the selection contained with the bookmark.

OK, thanks Bill.

In the case of 2 bookmarks having selections using different fields, can you confirm the function of the tick box I mentioned ?

Without 'Make bookmark apply on top of current selections', a 'clear all' is performed before applying the bookmark. With 'Make bookmark apply on top of current selections' you will end up the same way as if you had done those selections manually.

Hi Richard,

if 2 different fields are used within the bookmarks and the apply on top is used, then the following will occur:

Bookmark 1 selects values 1,2,3 from field product

Bookmark 2 selects values 7,8,9 from field country

No clear is done after bookmark 1. The result will be all 6 values selected (only if there is no associative conflict between the field values). If there is a conflict bookmark 2 will apply it's values and only associated values form bookmark 1 will remain

Hope that helps

Joe

Thanks to all of you.

This has been really helpful in understanding how Bookmarks work, which I had been unable to find on this forum or in documentation
