Hi, I wasn't sure which to post this in, but can Qlik or QlikView read server logs like Windows Event logs, /var/log/messages, etc. and allow me to build "projections" and other analysis?
Yes, Qlik is quite good for consuming all kinds of logs. Text logs are supported out of the box. For Windows event logs you either need to extract them to to text files first using something like MS LogParser or use a custom or ODBC connector.
