Using the Ajax client from the access point I create a bookmark with "Share Bookmark with Other users" checked, but when I login as another user I can't see the shared bookmark. Create a shared bookmark from 2nd user and go back to first user and can't see the shared bookmark either. See screen shots for further details.
Logged in as User A and create a bookmark that is shared:
Log off and log on as User B, don't see the bookmark I created as user A:
Are you by any chance using a Small Business Edition server license? In that case you won't be able to share server bookmarks.
How can I tell which type of license I have? Thanks.
In the Enterprise Management Console, go to System > Licenses > QlikView Server > QlikView Server License. Where it says "Paste the contents of the LEF file here (optional):", is there a row that says:
DISABLE_COLLABORATION;YES;; ?
In that case it's a Small Business Edition license which does not allow user collaboration.
Thanks just checked, and the line DISABLE_COLLABORATION;YES;; is not in the LEF. So I assume shared bookmarks should be working, but are not 😞
Hm, ok, if you log in as User B, using the IE Plugin and go to Bookmarks > More..., and go to the Shared Server Bookmarks tab, can you see User A's shared bookmark there?
Looks like a bug in QV Ajax client. If I right click and bring up the large menu and select repository the shared bookmark is available to all users. But it is not in the bookmark object.
i success make a User A's shared bookmark and User B get them
the way is:
first step the same as jims1958 Logged in as User A and create a bookmark that is shared (above)
then second step 2-1 is that User B login then get A' bookmark from Repository select "show sahred items"
check the "show in my favorite"
basic idea is UserA create shared book mark ,then Other Users can make choice whether show it on their bookmark list or not.
