Can users save their changes to a shared document via Access Point?

Hi,

I am new to Qlikview so I need some help please. I have noticed that when I publish a document via Access Point which is shared by more than one user (and don't make it read only) that each user can independently select filters and add sheets and, because it is clever, neither user can see the changes made to the other users document. However, when the user closes the document down and reopens it their changes are still saved. My question is - will their changes always stay there even after refresh? I didn't consciously apply and bookmarks. What I am trying to determine is whether each user can customise their view of the same published document permanently.

thanks,

Janet

There will be a .shared file that will be in the same folder as the qlikview dashboard on the server. This file will have the user id as well as the changes the user made. Even the bookmarks are stored here as well. If you remove this file out and backup it then the user will see the dashboard without the changes you mentioned. Only the thing is that they shouldnt lose teh bookmarks that they have created, else they would have to re-create them.

Many thanks Rajesh. I assume that if I don't remove the .shared file and refresh my data then they can still see thier changes?

Hi Janet,

No, until you are not allowing the users to update the used background files, which are impacting the QVW.

From access point sometimes some footprints remains and these are only visible in the id of the specific user, who do the change.

but it will not reflect in QVW and will not be visible to the other users using the same access point.
