Can we have sub-totals in straight table chart

Hi,

I have create a table as under

Dept     Project                                               Amount

IT         Hardware                                            10000.00

IT         SOFTWARE                                        3000.00

CIVIL    Furniture                                            100000.00

CIVIL    BUILDING AT NEW LOCATION          5000000.00

.

.

.

.

.


I want this table with sub-totals on dept.

i.e.

Dept     Project                                               Amount

IT         Hardware                                            10000.00

IT         SOFTWARE                                        3000.00

            Total                                                  13000.00

CIVIL    Furniture                                            100000.00

CIVIL    BUILDING AT NEW LOCATION          5000000.00

             Total                                               5100000.00

             Grand Total                                     5113000.00

No you cannot.

You have to create the inline table and then in the charts use the Pick function then you achieve this. But why you not use the pivot table for this.

I don't thing so we can accomplish this in straight table but for that you can use Pivot table.

In straight table, you can get the sub-totals

Hi,

There is no default setting in Straight table, but you can do this in Pivot table easily.  Anyway if you want to do this Straight table only then refer below link for solution.

Hi,

You can achieve this by doing some work around. You have to create separate column with existing project and Total/Grand Total and than link to existing column.

In expression side, you may have to use pick function to calculate total and grant total.

Make sure you are doing proper sorting order.

Can you please explain the process to achieve this using Straight table.

I gone through the QVW which you have developed for the reference, but not able to see any straight table.

There is only pivot table and an Image included in Text object.
