Can we restrict the selection on charts?

I have a multi box to select the year and month and a chart which shows the monthwise sales. So we can choose the month from the multibox and Chart. But the user should choose the month from the multibox only. Is there any possibility to restrict the user to choose the month from the chart?

On the General tab of the chart properties, select "Read Only".
