Hi All,
Can we upload any QVD , Excel or CSV file from some other external folder to the final application.
Selecting all the data files from that folder is possible and done ........
NOw the problem is when end user want to select only selected QVD or CSV from folder on the fly how it will be done.
He does not want all the qvd to be uploded..... please reply it urgent
Instead of selecting one QVD/Excel Document and attempting to load it in real-time - could you load all QVDs/Excel Docs in a folder and then filter them out in real time? You state that you are already loading all files in a given directory, can you provide a way for the user to remove the files they do not wish to see (i.e. only looking at the one they wish to see).
I received this same question from one of our QlikView developers at my company. It seems that QlikView (by design) isn't good at dynamically loading various pieces of data in real-time (your request). But, I bet you could accomplish the same result by loading all data (assuming it's small enough), then using QlikView to filter out the non-needed data in real-time.
HI Trevor,
Actually My client do not want to give data table access to end user. So its not possible that he can manually remove the QVD / Excel from the folder. I have allready suggested this but it was rejected.
Secondly we are working on very huge data. On every date we have 30 million rows of data in tables. and QVD present will be for current month and previous month in that Folder.
Requirement is user can select the Day on the fly i:e real time. and data get uploaded on the front end.
HI all,
Plzzz Any Inputs for the above problem ????
I have two other ideas for you to consider:
1) Use the 'Real-Time Data' option with QV 9.
a. http://www.qlik.com/us/company/press-room/press-releases/2009/0610-qlikview-9-sets-new-bi-standard
b. Check your QV 9 Manual
2) Create a variable that the user can set (variable holds the path to desired QVD/Spreadsheet) and allow the user to refresh the QV app on demand.
a. I had success using a button/macro on the GUI to allow a end user to refresh a QlikView application on demand (assuming they were in the correct security group).
Hi Ashwin,
Did you find solution for this?.
