Dear all,
I am no longer able to access Qlikview Help. Whenever I click the Help menu inside Qlikview, I get the following error:
Please advise
Thanks
May be go directly into help:
That is ok. What I really need to be able to go to the function page when the function name is highlighted and F1 key is pushed. I would like to know how to fix the browser problem. Thanks
Sorry, not sure
I don't have an answer, I only have more details.
The help button in Qlik Sense (App Overview) tries to take me here:
http://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/3.1/csh/client/Hub.dt.Help
And in the App View
http://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/3.1/csh/client/AppView
And in the Sheet Menu
http://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/3.1/csh/client/Stage_SheetView
You can see for yourself the 502 error.
The same affects help button in Qlikview (version 12)
http://help.qlik.com/en-US/qlikview/12.0/csh/client/131408
You mention a separate issue, which is the use of F1 to launch help,
And the combined highlight of a help function of F1
As this thread says, that is not an option in Qlik Sense
https://www.qlikcommunity.org/thread/147062
And as Sunny says, the root domain still works (notice https, http won't work!)
And you notice how you access Qlik Sense help:
https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/
Which by default takes you to the latest version of Qlik Sense, 3.1 at the time of writing this:
https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/3.1/Content/Home.htm
And I wish there was an easy way to find a function with a specific name, but you must also know the function's category. For example, to get help on the RangeMax function, I must first go inside "ChartFunctions", then "RangeFunctions", and then finally I can reach a page which says rangemax.htm
However you can easily create some kind of help bookmarklet or scriptlet which allows you to query any arbitrary thing, including the name of a function. For instance, in this case I'm searching for "range", expecting to find results on all sorts of range functions
https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/3.1/search/?q=range
A reminder of two differences that "burned" me before:
As I mentioned above, double-check the version number in your URL, (https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense/3.1/Content/Home.htm) and in the upper-right corner of your screen, to be sure you're reading the same version of the software you're using. Reading URL for version 2.0, may give you misleading information when you're using Qlik Sense version 3.1.
And Qlik Sense has awesome support for developers. So awesome, that developers have their own separate URL. Notice in this URL, and in the upper-left corner of my screen, how I'm on a "sense-developer" site. (vs the "sense" site) This will tell me about API's and stuff, but it may not help me with basic Qlik load/expression functions like range:
https://help.qlik.com/en-US/sense-developer/3.1/search/?q=range
I guess "sense" vs "sense-developer" difference is analogous to the "hub" vs "dev-hub" difference
And this help issue seems to be affecting other helps, like even the Governance Dashboard: What is the QlikView Governance Dashboard? ‒ QlikView Governance Dashboard
