Cannot add grand total to Pivot

I would like to add a grand total to the pivot table below. But the total option is greyed out. When I convert it to a straight table totals are displayed without a problem. Does anybody has a suggestion ?

Pivot tables don't use Running Total. You can achieve a similar effect by using Partial Sums.

Select the first Dimension under the Presentation tab and check Partial Sums.
