Caption for objects not being displayed in reports

Is it possible to make the Caption for objects being displayed in reports?

I can't find a setting for this, and all the objects I haved in the report do have their captions displayed in the app but not in the report.

As far as I know, it it not considered a bug by QT, but rather a conscious design decision.

If anyone knows of any plans to allow captions in report objects, please post.

Hello,

I think i found the solution for you , go to Settings-->User preferences-->export

under copying to clipboard:

"Include Caption and Border"

check everything

Fixed it so that Captions appear Reports? Or only for things copied to the clipboard?

I am facing the same problem, so I tried the "Include caption & border" approach.

Captions still not appear at the report.

So there is no way to show the caption on the reports other than faking it with a text !?

Indeed d.o.c.h89 's solution seems to work for everything but reports!!!

The way I get around this is by checking "Show Title in Chart" on the General tab. The Titles carry over to the Report tool.

Yes this is the answer!  If you don't show the caption in the chart and use the Show Title in Chart instead you get pretty much the same result.  You can also amend the font and justify left so it looks like the caption.

Thanks Sarah & Mandy- can either of you tell me where is the "Show Title in Chart" checkbox? I've looked in Document properties, sheet properties, user preferences and the Chart Properties. I cannot get the caption to show up in the report.

"Show Title in Chart" is an option available on the General tab of chart objects.
