When making an interactive analysis using a self-created QlikView document, I select on some criteria; for example a Year (step 1), then a Customer or a Product (step 2), then perhaps a specific week (step 3), etc... So several cumulative/narrowing steps in the selection process.
What I notice is the following: when I happen to reach a step X where there is no data resulting, ALL previous steps in the 'current selections' are automatically erased, and I have to redo all steps 1 to X-1 to be able to continue my analysis.
What I would like to have QlikView do is to maintain all my selection steps, including step X, and show me an empty data-field/table/graph/..., so that I can simply erase step X and continue with my analysis.
How can I make this happen?
Thanks,
Bart

How about using the 'Back' button to undo the last selection that caused earlier selections to be erased ?
I also find manually locking selected field selection[s} very useful when doing such interactive analysis to prevent selections I wish to be mandatory being cleared.
