Changing Dimension Colour and Font in Bar chart (Selectively)

Hi Fellow Developers,

    I am sharing a way to change the Colour and Font of the Dimension in a Bar Chart.

Requirement:

Change the Colour and Font of Dimension in Bar chart on a Condition.

The Issue:

As opposed to a Straight/Pivot Table, A Bar/Line chart does not allow to change the colour and Font of the dimension selectively i.e on a condition. It behave as a All or None condition (Refer Image).

Solution:

Step 1:

Create a normal Bar Chart with Dimension and Expression.

Step 2:

Create an addition Expression with Dimension in the Expression eg. If Dimension is Year, Expression should be Year

Step 3:

Disable the "Bar" option and activate the "Text On Axis" option for the newly created expression.

Step 4:

Hide the Dimension by deactivating "Show Legend" under Dimension.

Step 5:

Now under the newly created expression feel free to put in desired condition under "Text Color" and "Text Format".

If "I" got all the steps right, you should have a dimension with conditional formatting (Refer Image).

For Reference PFA a sample app.

Where the Month "Mar" has been conditionally highlighted in Red and Bold.

Hi

I have requirement of changing the font to BOLD in a drill down conditionally.

My drill as below

Month_Year

Week

Date

I need to BOLD the weekends dates when it's drill to the date level

below image

I have bold the numbers in the chart but ideally like to have the 24th and 25th in BOLD

Hi Tejas,

I have tried to replicate this, but I can see values from Dimension and Expression both,If I disable the show values in dimension I could not see anything.
