Is it possible to make the legend settings on a chart appear horizontally rather than vertically so that all the items are on one horizontal line rather than stacked on top of each other?
Hi,
You can do it in 'Presentation tab' of chart, there you can see left side down to make appear horizontally by checking 'Horizontal tab'.
Thanks,
Shiven..
Hello,
Click on the chart (activating the chart) and do 'ctrl+shift'.
you will find 3 sections highlighted - Title, Chart and legend.
With 'ctrl+shift' still on, drag and drop the legend to the bottom and re-size it to make it show horizontal.
Thanks
Hi,
It's Interesting; but see attached snap, I didn't find that option in Qlikview 11.2 SR3.
Ctrl+Shift and then dragging takes lots of efforts. . .
Hi Lawrence,
You can try using ctrl+shift option. Follow the below steps:
1. Activate the chart by clicking on it.
2. Press ctrl+shift, and while holding ctrl+shift drag the highlighted boundaries of legend to make the desired change.
Hope this helps!
Hi Shiven,
I can't find the option suggested by you, can you tell which QV version are you using?
Hi,
Sorry I was confused and gave some other solution, what I have mentioned is for Straight Table where you can place the Column name horizontally and vertically as we do in Pivot table.
Thanks,
Shiven..
Thanks for the replies. I can get the legend to move to the bottom, but no amount of widening the legend box makes the items appear side by side instead of stacked. Can anyone show me how they've implemented this?
setting up the horizontally is the little tricky and it's not easy to explain since it doesn't work the same way every time
Once you move the legends to the bottom. try to highlight and move the legend section. the border will turn black.
once you see that black color. drag it towards to right to increase the width..
Hope it helps. good luck!!!
I am quite new in Qlik chart and also feel very interested at this topic. I previously worked with a chart control, and felt very troublesome with its chart legend things. Don't know if it is easy to deal with this problem in Qlik.
