Hello,
Forgive me if this has been asked before or is simple, I searched the help and other discussions before posting to no avail.
I have a chart that I want to plot as points and show a trendline. So I created a new Line Chart type and under "Expressions" I disabled the Line option and checked symbol.
This works well when there are few values to be displayed. However, once a bigger selection is shown the chart shows lines! No settings are changed. I have attached 2 images that show what is happening. The only difference between the two images is the selection fields.
Any suggestions on how to stop this?
Thank you.
Remember that a Line is a conjunction of dots.
Could you send a copy of qvw?
Unfortunately, the file is larger than the maximum upload size.
I understand qlikview is just connecting the dots, but why is it only when the data selection is large? (Even when I tell it not to).
I did not change the settings between the two screenshots.
Hi
I have noticed that when there is a large number of points, QV sometimes renders them as a line. It appears to 'fall back' to line format when there are more than a certain number of points. It is not simply due to the points running into each other as it draws a 1 or 2 pixel line regardless of the point size. There does not appear to be any way to prevent this, short of manipulating your data set so that are not that many points.
Regards
Jonathan
Maybe it is the "continuous" mode on axes (?)
Thank you Johnathan, I was afraid of this answer.
I can confirm the chart "breaks" when I have more than 461 points. I'm not sure what the exact number is, It works when I have 70 and breaks at 461, my next smallest selection.
This seems like a very small number to work with...
Also I tried disabling continuous, no change on the result.
