Cluster - Server Off Duty

Hi Experts,

Below is the infrastructure setup I have at my Organization:

Machine 1 : Publisher

Machine 2: QlikView Server 1

Machine 3: QlikView Server 2

I have a licence for two node with this NUMBER_OF_CLUSTER_NODES;2;;. Also I have set up the cluster as below in the QMC

The folder also have been created to be Shared between the two folders. The services are installed using the same user credentials in all the machines. But we are encountered with Server OFF DUTY message with one of the servers.

Need your help in resolving this.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Pramod,

Maybe this other post can help you:

Make sure you only have one QMC running.  Make sure you don't have another server using the same license.  Make sure the service account is part of the "Administrators" and "QlikView Administrators" group.

Hi,

If another server would use the same license, both nodes were "Off Duty".

If the service account were not in "Administrators" group, you weren't be able to start any service

If the service account were not in "QlikView Administrators" group, you weren't be able to start QVS service.

It's a frequent error after adding a new node to cluster, just restart QVS service on the "Off Duty" node (maybe more than once). If the other node become "Off Duty", try to restart both servers (whole server, not just services).

Gregor
