Hi ,
I have a table with working days of every month with the executives like this
Jan Feb Mar Apr Jun Jul
A 23 18 22 29 20 27
B 20 18 24 20 20 20
I need calculate the average clearence per day sum(clearence)/sum(working days). Since month names are as the columns how to calculate the sum(working days). If i select the specific month it should be diaplyed for the month, I tried using the cross table due to number of years there is degradation in performance. Is there any other way other than cross table.
You could load each column separately and then link between them, but I doubt if it's going to be faster than a crosstable load.
On the other hand, considering the nature of this data - just HOW MUCH data do you have? I don't think it should be too huge, and hence a degradation in performance must be caused by something else - maybe you are running into synthetic keys, or maybe you have a join with misspelled key names, that causes a Cartesian multiplication?
I can't buy into the premise of CROSSTABLE load on this data causing major performance problems by itself, - there must be something else...
