Compare Timesamp from Hive Data with another Timestamp

How do I compare a TimeStamp with another one:

this works:

LET vIE = 'WHERE $(vMF) >=#' & date(peek('maxdate'),'MM/DD/YYYY') &'#';

this one doesn't :

LET vIE = 'WHERE $(vMF) >=#' & timestamp(peek('maxdate'),'MM/DD/YYYY hh:mm:ss') &'#';

the data is given as:

16.01.2016 09:20:22

.

.

.

It always gives back: some mistake near >= ..

What is the meaning of these "#"?

QV cannot interprete this sign.

Furthermore would recommend to work rather with numeric data than with formatted dates.
