Hi experts,
What is Composite key?
Mahesh, you're on a roll today. Interview coming up?
A composite key is where we concatenate two or more key fields together.
For example if I have a table with order number and order line I might do something like:
OrderNum & '_' & OrderLine as %KeyOrderNumLine
Thanks,
Marcus
No probs, a 'Correct' would make my day though...
It's worth asking why we might use a composite key - typically I might use them to resolve a synthetic key issue.
combination of multiple keys called as concatenate key.
Thanks,
Shiva Reddy
ur wc, if ur happy with any of the above answers,u can close by marking as correct this thread & all other as well
Ok, but u wrote concatination, that is not concatination
that is composite key.
Hi
When one or more tables have two or more fields in common, then a composite key will be generated, then QlikView handles this process with a Synthetic Key.
