Hi,
I have Qlikview personal edition installed on computer A. The database I want to connect to is in another computer B. I can login to computer B via Remote Desktop Connection and once I am in computer B,I can connect to the database.
How do I connect to the database on Computer B from Qlikview installed on computer A?
The database on computer B is MYSQL. Please help!
Thanks,
NK
If you are able to connect to the remote database in your local MySQL workbench, then you can use it. Or try creating an ODBC or OLEDB connection of the remote server database and then use it.
Thanks,
Singh
Your remote desktop connection has nothing to do with QlikView loading data from Computer B. Try connecting via an installed mysql odbc driver.
Hi,
Download mysql odbc drivers

What provider should we use if we connect to MYSQL database in OLE DB connection?
THX!
I don't know if there is a specific OLEDB provider for MySQL. I think you need to create an ODBC connection and use that rather than OLE DB. I would not use the generic OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers as this simply adds an extra layer to the ODBC connection.
Hi NK or (any user who has understood the solution),
What is final approach you have taken to resolve this issue? I have a similar problem, where I need to connect to MySQL server from a secured remote server. As mentioned in your question, this secured server acts as computer B. And MySQL server is installed on computer C. MySQL server can be accessed only from computer B but not from computer A.
Hence i need to first login to computer B using user-specific account and then connect to MySQL server using Database user credentials.
The solution is requested for Qlik sense desktop version.
Your response would be very helpful.
