Container tab labels disappear after re-opening

I have a QlikView document that has a container. I am using SVN for source control.

Every time I save the QlikView document and re-open it, the labels for the tabs in the container are gone.

Any idea how I can get them to stick around? When I open the xml file for the container, it has no mention of the labels I entered.

Is this a bug?

hi,

I think its a bug  in AJAX mode. Try the IE plugin the container object will work fine.

Hi,  Please check the  version of the QlikView Server running.  If the server version does not support containters, then they will not show on the access point.  Regards, Siva Sankar

Hi Simon,

I havent experienced such an issue, even i use SVN for source control.

just in case are you using variables in the labels for the tabs??

In 11 sr1 variables stored in front end donot get saved; only those written in script will stick around,

as qlikview drops all the data in the application before committing.

Cheers!

Deepak,

Thanks for your response. The issue shows up in QlikView Desktop, not just the AJAX client. It shows up when using Project folders (described in section 9.1 of the QlikView Version 11 manual).

It is not a bug in AJAX mode.

Siva,

thanks for your response. The QlikView Server version is 11 SR1.

QlikView Server version is the latest available version.

Varun,

Thanks for your response. The tab labels are plain text, not variables.

I am attaching a QVW that exhibits this behavior.

To duplicate the issue:

  1. Download Test.qvw (attached)
  2. Create a folder called Test-prj in the same location as Test.qvw
  3. Open Test.qvw
  4. Right-click the top level container and add labels for each of the tabs
  5. Save Test.qvw
  6. Close Test.qvw and re-open it
  7. The tab labels have disappeared

Thanks to all those who provided feedback so far. Sorry my original post was not more clear. Hopefully this example will help things along...

hi simon,

Report this issue to the support team as I feel it might be a bug. I had face a similar issue in QV 10 SR4 but in Ajax mode.
