Count dates in straight chart

Hi,

I'm trying to count the instances of a particular field (in this case a date) in a straight chart. What we're looking for is:

Date	Count
27/02/2012	3
28/02/2012	2
01/03/2012	8
04/03/2012	3

Can anyone help? As may be obvious, I am not an experienced QV designer...

Have you tried Date as dimension and

=count(Date)

as expression?
