Credentials to use under Section Access in QMC(Documents-> User Documents-> Reload)

Hello Everyone,

I am stuck with an issue. In my Prod Server, at the very beginning we have applied some credentials under section access in QMC for a Qlikview File to reload. Now, we are putting up same file on another Qlikview Server and we don't remember the passwords applied under section access in QMC. My reload getting failed on Test Server. As far as i know, we have to put the credentials of the account under which Qlikview Services are running. But it is not the case(as some other credentials were inserted in the Prod Server). Can someone help me in this?

Thanks,

Nikhil Garg

The credentials of the account running the QDS are applied by default. Apparently, in your Production system some other credentials are applied to either open the document for a reload in the first place, or connect to a database that forces you to use specific credentials etc.

  • Is your document using section access code? Then open your load script and check which account is needed to perform this reload, or add the service account without link field values to the section access table in order to get an easier reload. The latter solution makes you independent of usernames/passwords.
  • Is your document in need of this account to make a connection to a data source? Then check which database connection is used and which account is needed to make a successful connection. If you can't figure out which acccount grants access to the data source (because of the obfuscation of username and password), ask the data source manager to provide you with a new account to access the data.

There is a reason why credentials have an encrypted/hidden part that cannot be easily recovered.
